This handsome void, a domestic short hair, made his grand entrance into the world on March 20, 2015, and he’s been stealing hearts ever since. If you’ve ever wondered what a shadow with emerald eyes and a heart of pure gold looks like, well, you’re looking at him.
Max is the definition of a sweet boy. He’s not the flashy, demanding type; his affection is quieter, more sincere. His favorite way to say “I love you” is with what we’ve come to call ‘cat hugs.’ He’ll elegantly weave himself through your legs, arching his back for the perfect rub, purring like a tiny motor. It’s a surefire way to melt any bad day away.
But be warned! This lovebug comes with a quirky, adorable flaw: he’s a nibbler! The affection ritual is predictable and endearing: the cat hug, a few sandpapery kisses, and then… the gentle gnaw. He tries so hard to be delicate with his nibbles on your fingers, a behavior we think is a sign of ultimate, if slightly misguided, devotion. It’s his unique way of showing he’s completely comfortable and happy.
While he adores his humans, his true, unwavering devotion is reserved for another: our tabby queen, Tiger. Max considers Tiger his lady, his best friend, and his entire world. Wherever Tiger goes, Max is never far behind. He is her silent, furry guardian.
This beautiful bond shines brightest on Tiger’s tough days. Tiger battles Kidney Disease, and there are times when she just doesn’t feel well and cries out. Max’s response is nothing short of magical. He doesn’t hide or get annoyed; he immediately goes to her side. He cuddles up close, lays his head next to hers, and offers quiet comfort. He seems to understand her pain, and his presence is a living, purring blanket of support.
This incredible sensitivity is what makes Max, Max. He tends to be a more nervous and shy guy around new people or loud noises, but once he trusts you, you’re granted access to a truly loyal and tender heart. He’s a testament to the fact that the quietest souls often have the most love to give.
So, please give a warm NOLA Crazy Cat Lady welcome to Max! Our gentle nibbler, Tiger’s devoted knight, and an all-around sweetheart who reminds us every day of the profound empathy and connection our feline friends are capable of.
